This is a series of small works by all the gallery artists. My mask series is on display and apparently is causing quite a bit of conversation. All good.

I had surgery that day and couldn’t make it to the opening.

WCA Talk

I was asked to do a talk about the symbolism of my work for the WCA (Women Contemporary Arts) Group. I am deeply honored to be asked and was thrilled to me so many fine artists. Many I have known, some I have known of and others I met for the very first time. I thank you all for taking the time to attend and allowing me to share my thoughts with you. It is an honor.

Sad update

After 10 years of showing at the Katharine Butler Gallery in Towles Court. 10 years of friendships, gallery walks, talks and multiple efforts, it is all coming to an end.

Katharine has decided it time to move in a different direction. She is closing the gallery come fall.

I will miss my comrades, friends, acquaintances and customers. They have all so become a part of my life.

To all, I shall miss you and hope we meet again under conditions that at least confirm our friendship.

Quick update

Two of my works have been featured in sanctuary magazine which is the quarterly Journal of the Massachusetts Audubon Society. The theme of the summer issue has been the wind. They used two of my pieces in an article on kite flying. I have been blessed they gave Katharine credit as a gallery and I must say that Chris, the gallery director has worked very hard on my behalf to get this done and I thank him. It is an opportunity that I would not have otherwise.

A Buddhist friend in Canada, recently had dinner with his Holiness the Dalai Lama. For those of you who do not know, I have been a big fan and have a great deal of respect for his Holiness..... It was with great pleasure that my friend informed me that she had shown some of my work to his Holiness and that he stated his pleasure at some of the images. I felt honored on so many levels. To start with I am honored by the friendship of my Canadian friend, I am honored that she felt my work worthy to show his Holiness and that his Holiness felt compelled to even make a statement. Sometimes life is like that, the littlest gestures have the biggest of impacts.

My quote for the last month has been "Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy." Thich Nhat Hanh... Certainly a wonderful thought.
