Last night was the Gallery walk. The weather was warm
but clear. Attendance was modest with about 200
people coming to the gallery between six and nine
p.m. I was very blessed last night there is a lot of
interest in my work. Lots and lots of questions, and
an opportunity to share.
Gallery walks for me are generally a lot of work, but also very rewarding. It is an opportunity for me to get out of the studio, take a deep breath of air, and have the opportunity to chat with some people. If I’m lucky, a few friends may drop in. Sometimes being in a situation where I need to talk about my work tends to give me more clarity. I have to think about what I’m doing, why I am doing it, and where all of this is leading. It’s the realization that there is an awful lot of work, an awful lot of effort, and an awful lot of support from so many people.
If there is ever any doubt it is worth the effort, it comes down to the bottom line. The bottom line being I can’t stop! These thoughts roll around in your head and you can only suppress them for so long, then they have to be dealt with.
